McDonald Selected as Next TSBA President

White County School Board member, Mr. Jayson McDonald, has been selected to serve as the TN School Boards Association President for the upcoming year. The TSBA assists school boards across the state in effectively governing school districts by providing programs to support local board members and giving them a collective voice in matters of legislation and public education.

Mr. McDonald is the first from White County to hold this leadership position and is looking forward to representing White County beyond the local level.  Director of Schools, Mr. Kurt Dronebarger, says, "It is an honor for White County to be represented at such a high level. Mr. McDonald brings years of service and experience from his tenure on our local school board, and we are proud that his leadership will now expand across the state."

Mr. McDonald says that a top priority as he guides the organization will revolve around ensuring that public funds remain in public education. "TSBA desires to work with all education stakeholders to ensure that the TISA tax dollars fully and fairly support Tennessee schools," he said. "Improving the mental health of students and staff and raising teacher compensation would be other items of interest for the year."

Mr. McDonald will continue his term on the local level as well and is committed to ensuring a high-quality education for White County students.
